Piano competition Festival ‘Isidor Bajić’,
May 26th – 29th, 2023
GENERAL CONDITIONS
The purpose of the „Isidor Bajić“ Festival is:
- Interactive exchange of pedagogical experiences;
- Promotion of classical music and nurturing the principle of „joy of music making“ in children;
- Affirmation of pedagogues with exceptional results;
- Possibility of professional development for pedagogues.
The festival „Isidor Bajić“ is public and the right to participate in the festival have:
- regular students of primary music schools;
- students not enrolled full-time in primary music school.
The „Isidor Bajić“ festival will be held in the music school ”Isidor Bajić“, Bulevar Cara Lazara 67, Novi Sad, Serbia, May 26th – 29th, 2023.
CATEGORIES AND COMPETITION PROGRAMME
The „Isidor Bajić“ festival is organised for the PIANO SOLO discipline.
Categories and allowed timing of performances for regular students of primary music schools:
- Baby category: born in 2014 and younger – up to 4 minutes;
- First category: born in 2013 – up to 5 minutes;
- Second category: born in 2012 – up to 6 minutes;
- Third category: born in 2011 – up to 7 minutes;
- Fourth category: born in 2010 – up to 8 minutes;
- Fifth category: born in 2009 – up to 9 minutes;
- Sixth category: born in 2008 – up to 10 minutes.
Categories and allowed timing of performance for students who do not regularly attend primary music school:
- First category: up to 2 years of study – up to 5 minutes;
- Second category: up to 4 years of learning – up to 7 minutes;
- Third category: up to 6 years of learning – up to 10 minutes.
In all categories, the programme is free choice and must be performed by memory.
THE JURY
Participants are evaluated by a jury composed of three to five members who are renowned piano pedagogues from Serbia.
Jury members are appointed by „Isidor Bajić Festival“. Members of the jury are (in alphabet order):
- Mate Kristina, Music School Subotica
- Popov Marić Dragana, „Isidor Bajić“ music school, Novi Sad
- Ravnjak Aleksandra, „Slavenski“ music school, Belgrade
EVALUATION OF PARTICIPANTS
Participant scoring is done by adding points with score sheets and calculating the average grade.
The required number of points for each award is:
- First prize: 90 – 100 points;
- Second prize: 80 – 89.99 points;
- Third prize: 70 – 79.99 points;
- Diploma: 60 – 69.99 points.
PRIZES
The number of prizes that the jury will award in each category is not limited.
Each awarded participant will receive a diploma.
Jury members can announce one laureate in fifth or sixth category for regular primary music schools students. The laureate title can be awarded only to a participant with a maximum 100 points.This decision of the jury must be unanimous.
SPECIAL PRIZES FOR REGULAR STUDENTS OF PRIMARY MUSIC SCHOOLS
The laureate of the festival is awarded with:
- paid application fee for the participation in the International Piano Competition „Isidor Bajić“ Memorial in 2023, which the organiser will pay in the name of the laureate’s participation in the competition and thereby enable free participation in the CD audition.
- a concert of the winner of the „Isidor Bajić“ Festival at the World conference of piano pedagogues, pianists and artists in Novi Sad from June 27th to July 3th, 2023
- participation in masterclasses within the World conferences of piano pedagogues, pianists and artists in Novi Sad from June 27th to July 3th, 2023
If no participant in the fifth or sixth category is awarded with the laureate title, the highest ranked participant in that category is awarded with:
- a concert of the winner of the „Isidor Bajić“ Festival at the World conference of piano pedagogues, pianists and artists in Novi Sad from June 27th to July 3th, 2023
- participation in masterclasses within the World conferences of piano pedagogues, pianists and artists in Novi Sad from June 27th to July 3th, 2023
The highest ranked first-prize participants from the other categories are awarded:
- a concert of the winner of the „Isidor Bajić“ Festival at the World conference of piano pedagogues, pianists and artists in Novi Sad from June 27th to July 3th, 2023
- participation in masterclasses within the World conferences of piano pedagogues, pianists and artists in Novi Sad from June 27th to July 3th, 2023
SPECIAL AWARDS FOR STUDENTS NOT ENROLLED FULL-TIME IN PRIMARY MUSIC SCHOOL
The highest ranked first-prize participants in all categories are awarded:
- a concert of the winner of the „Isidor Bajić“ Festival at the World conference of piano pedagogues, pianists and artists in Novi Sad from June 27th to July 3th, 2023
AWARDS FOR TEACHERS
Members of the jury can award the most successful teacher at the festival by an unanimous decision. The most successful teacher is awarded with a cash prize in the amount of 10,000 dinars.
OTHER PRIZES
The organiser of the competition awards a special recognition:
- the youngest participant of the festival;
- the school with the largest number of participants at the festival.
APPLICATION
Application deadline is May 10th, 2023, exclusively in electronic form. Documentation required for application include:
- completed electronic application
- birth certificate or passport copy (scanned);
- proof of donation payment (scanned).

The donation for participation in the festival is 4000,00 dinars per participant – for participants from Serbia, and 40 EUR per participant – for participants from abroad.

Please keep in mind, when making a payment of the donation in the bank or post office, be sure that the amount of the donation
is paid in full to the account of the competition. Commissions of the transfer must be paid by the participant who pays the donation.
In case of cancelation of participation the donation and documents will not be returned.
OTHER CONDITIONS
The festival takes place according to the Festival Regulations. Rule book is made by the Festival Organising Committee.
The organiser of the festival appoints the Organising Committee of the festival, which takes care of the preparation and realisation of the festival.
The order of performance at the competition will be determined by drawing letters (by lot) and carried on alphabetically
according to the participant’s last name.
Schedule and timing of performances in all categories will be published on the website of the competition (www.fibns.com) no later than 7 days before the start of the competition. Participants are obliged to inform themselves about the schedule and timing of the competition.
Participants are required to register upon arrival in the registration office located in premises of „Isidor Bajić“ music school, Bulevar cara Lazara 67 and show the appropriate identification document, no later than 2 hours before the start of the category they are competing in.
The competition will be covered by the media via radio stations, local television stations and the press. Performances of the participants are recorded on high-quality equipment.
The organiser reserves the right of implementation and publication of the audiovisual material. Participants of the competition renounce all rights, such as copyright or any other rights related to using of music and video material that was realised by their participation and/or music performance during the competition and following events of the competition. The organiser retains the right to publish music and/or video recordings on CD, DVD publications and the Internet.
All costs of the competition (hotel services, travel etc.) are covered by the participants.
The organiser is not responsible for potential injuries of the participants and damage of equipment used by participants during the competition. By entering the competition, the participant or his guardian accepts all the rules stated in these propositions.
In case of insufficient number of participants in a particular category, the organiser reserves the right to cancel competition in that category, about which all participants in that category will be notified 7 days before the start of the competition. In that case, the festival organiser will refund the donations in full.
The organiser of the „Isidor Bajić“ Festival reserves the right to make changes.
